Once home to the Teutonic Order and Napoleon’s regiments, today Preussisch Eylau stands as a symbol of Russian valour. Throughout their history, the castle walls went through many turns of fate involving knights of the Order, enemy sieges, Napoleon’s invincible armies, devastating attacks led by Bagration and L’Estocq, a beautiful love story and then — long years of abandonment.
After almost 200 years of disrepair, the castle now lives again to open its doors to visitors.
Explore the centuries-long history of Preussisch Eylau as its visitor, resident and master.
